Course Eligibility

PMI-PBA® Prerequisites

To be eligible for the PMI-PBA® exam, you must meet the requirements of one of the following education and experience sets:

Set A

  • Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or global equivalent)
  • 60 months (5 years) of business analysis experience earned within the last 8 years
  • 35 contact hours in business analysis practices

Set B

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (or global equivalent)
  • 36 months (3 years) of business analysis experience earned within the last 8 years
  • 35 contact hours in business analysis practices

Set C

  • Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree from a GAC-accredited program (bachelor’s or master’s degree or global equivalent)
  • 24 months (2 years) of business analysis experience (unique, non-overlapping)
  • 35 contact hours of formal education in business analysis
